From 13 to 19 July, Moise Palace hosted the international summer school “Serious Games and World Politics”, a part of the EMJD program International Master in Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies, which focused on the use of serious games and simulations in international relations, security, and geopolitics. Through lectures, workshops, and hands-on simulations, participants examined strategic decision-making, intelligence analysis, national security, and European geopolitics, while also learning the fundamentals of game design and testing new educational games.
The programme, organised by Filip Ejdus (University of Belgrade), included keynote lectures by Prof. Markus Bresinsky (OTH Regensburg) and Prof. Dakota Rudesill (The Ohio State University), extensive sessions dedicated to the strategic simulation Hedgemony, the Resistance Protocol card game, and StrategEUm, a simulation focused on European geopolitics, alongside evening discussions on regional geopolitics and professional ethics.
In addition to the academic programme, participants experienced the island of Cres through cultural and social activities, including a visit to olive groves and a farewell sunset boat trip.
