Frontiers in Drug Discovery” Conference Officially Opened at the University of Rijeka’s Moise Palace on Cres

The “Frontiers in Drug Discovery” conference was officially opened today at the Moise Palace of the University of Rijeka, on the island of Cres. The conference will take place from 6 to 11 July 2025.

The event is jointly organized by three distinguished scientists and institutions:

  • Ivan Đikić (Goethe University Frankfurt), member of the University Council of the University of Rijeka
  • Tihana Lenac Roviš (University of Rijeka)
  • Igor Štagljar (University of Toronto), member of the International Scientific Council of the University of Rijeka

This international gathering brings together leading scientists and experts from academia, the pharmaceutical industry, and research institutions worldwide. With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinarity, the conference aims to foster the exchange of innovative ideas and promote collaboration in cutting-edge areas such as PROTAC therapeuticsmolecular gluesnanotechnologyRNA-based therapies, and immunotherapy.

Taking place in the unique setting of the Moise Palace, the conference highlights the importance of collaboration between scientific centers across Europe and beyond. This cooperation contributes to the acceleration of therapeutic development, open innovation, and the translation of scientific discoveries from the laboratory to clinical application.

The conference was inaugurated with a keynote lecture by Professor Tony Hunter, PhDProfessor of the American Cancer Society, member of the Laboratory of Molecular and Cell Biology, and holder of the Renato Dulbecco Chair.
